Madambakkam is five kilometers from the Tambaram - Velachery Main road and accesible by Autos.
The temple is a very famous one and 1000 year old. Kapila Mahirishi workshipped here and got his sins washed away.
Lord Shiva here is a swayambu Murthi
There are some buses that ply in this route M51G (Vengaivasal) etc
A good account of temple can be had from http://www.dharsanam.com/2007/12/madambakkam-sri-dhenupureeswarar.html

New Chennai to TidelPark/Siruseri/Central Station
They are constructing the new airport since 2009 and it is still continuing. The new airport is an expansion of the old one @ Meenambakkam. Now it looks like heart of the city.
Yes, Chennai Airport is now one of the most easily accessibile Airport (compared to Bengalure, Hyderabad etc). It is well connected by Road and Rail.
The sad thing here is the food courts. There are quite few inside the Airport and outside the one there is only Sangeetha - The Vegetarian fast food. The food is costly and the tast is not great
Visitors waiting for passengers need to wait under a bridge. It is very tough in this summer heat! Ooomph .. pzzz
Both Busstop and MMTS station are nearby. The nearest station is Tirusulam Railway station from there the trains connect to Chennai Beach (via Saidapet, Guindy, T-Nagar, Nungambakkam, Egmore) and Chinglepet (via Tambaram, Guduvanchery)
There is a subway near the Airport which leads to the statio n
