How to goto Tiruvannamalai Girivalam from Chennai
Great! You have decided to go for Girivalam. This itself will take you the next level. Annamalai is a place where one attains Mukthi with just a thought. Tiruvannamalai is 195 kms from Chennai and well connected by Road. You need to take the Kanayakumari NH till Tindivanam and take a right towards Chengi (Gingee) and proceed straight to the feet of Unnamulai Samedha Annamalaiar Temple
We had our great co-ordinators Manikandan and Asst Director V.K. Kannan (+91 93624 08984) leading from the front. We booked a Tavera (Rs 4600/-) and a Tempo Traveller (Rs 8,000/-) for twenty yatris and set for the journey. It is ideal for anyone to dump self-driving and hire a vehcile as driving back after Girivalam will be bit tough
We reached Tiruvannamalai after three hours and went to the Chakkara Theertham and started our Girivalam .. we had a darshan of Rajagopuram and stood there for a while before the large camphor
With new bitumen laid on Roads the Girivalam path mostly is good for walking. On Namah Shivaya!
