Pazhaya Seevaram Narasimha Temple / Tirumukkoodal Appan Venkatesa Perumal Temples

Pazhaya Seevaram Lakshmi Narashimhar Temple - A Santha Narasimha Temple

We have seen Narasimha mostly in Ugra posture and at times in Yoga posture. Pazhaya Seevaram on the banks of Palar is renowned for Santha (Peaceful) Narasimha temple

The temple is very well maintained by Gujaratis (All 'Doss' es were there in the plaques as Dharma KArthas.

Very near to this temple is Tirumukoodal Temple

Tirumukoodal Appan Venkatesa Perumal Temple

Tirumukoodal is where three rivers merge - Palar, Vedavati and Cheyyar.

This place is also called as Triveni Sangamam and the priest told us that this place is more auspicious than Allahabad

Appan Venkatesa Perumal is in Standing posture and is a trimurthi - with Locked Hairs ressembling Shiva, having Conch and Chakra of Vishnu and standing of Lotus like Brahma

This is also called Trimurthi KShetram
The temple is 'poorly' maintained by ASI (Archealogical Survey of India). The ASI's trademark Croton plants and cut grass makes the place more like a park than a temple

If ASI leaves this place to HR&CE it would be better

Temples near Chennai / Chengelpet GST Road - Thiru Idai Churam / ThiruvidaiChuram/ ThiruvidaiChoolam - Sacred Ancient Shiva Temple

ThiruIdaiChuram - Ancient Shiva Temple near Chengalpet / Thirukazhukundram

Thinking of a place where you can be close to Shiva. This is the one.. situated five kilometers of the Thirukazhukundaram Road this is a heaven on earth.

Surrounded by hills on all sides with few kittens around him and a lonely dedicated priest, the Lord Shiva and Lordess Parvati bless everyone in the pristine atmosphere

The temple is calm, neat and is full of vibration. We are blessed to have Director VK Kannan (9362408984) and Shaivite Vinod (9994151506) to take us there

Thiru Idaichuram (Thiruvadisoolam) is a small village surrounded by many hills. This village has an ancient temple for Lord Shiva.

The main deity here is Sri Gnanapureeswarar, also called as Idaichura Naadhar. Goddess here is Sri Govardhanaambigai
Legend has that this place is workshipped by Lordess Parvati in the form of Cow.

Thiru Gnana Sambandhar while on the way to ThiruKazhuKundram rested here and was offered food by Shiva disguised as a Sheperd. The Saint refused the food as he hadn't taken the darshan of Lord Shiva

Lord Shiva then showed his original form and blessed the Saint

Long back a King (Rajendra Chola) donated 230 acres of land in the name of Lord Shiva. Now the temple has nothing! The poojas are conducted with the help of donations trickling from the visitors.

Thirumalai Vaiyavoor - Small Tirupati Near Chennai

Thirumalai Vaiyaavoor has a beautiful temple for Sri Prasanna Venkatesa Perumaal on a small hill, which is also called Thirumalai. Goddess here is Sri Alarmel Mangai Thaayaar.

Sri Rama after the battle with Raavana came here, bathed in Varaaha Theertham and worshipped the Lord, on His way back to Ayodhya.

Sri Ramanuja had worshipped the Lord here and named the place ‘Vaikundagiri’. He also had stayed in this place and meditated the Lord. Hence this place is also called as Ramanuja Yogagiri.

Tihs temple is 72 kms from Chennai and 18 kms from Chengalpattu. After crossing Chengalpattu, one can find Padaalam Cross Road (Koot Road) from where a road goes off GST Road on the right side. Drive this road for few kilometers you can find the darshan of the Temple with Gopuram from the distance.
